A standard approach in the therapy of panic and emotional disorders is the use of 2 main groups of medications: benzodiazepines and antidepressants (SSRIs). Both categories of medication have proven effectiveness and numerous side effects - extremely high potential for the development of addiction, severe "withdrawal syndrome", slow onset of effect (about a month), difficult to find in the pharmacy network (a so-called "green prescription" is mandatory ” for prescribing a benzodiazepine and a “white prescription” for an antidepressant).

The main alkaloid responsible for the natural SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) effect of Sceletium Tortuosum is mesembrine.
Minor alkaloids include Mesembrenone and Mesembranol.
Sceletium extract also contains alkaloids that inhibit phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE4), an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (or cAMP). cAMP is found in cells of the nervous and immune systems. It is a derivative of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and is used for intracellular signal transduction. By inhibiting PDE4, the body has more cAMP available, leading to positive effects on mood and memory. The main alkaloid in Panixen™ responsible for inhibiting PDE4 is called mesembrenone.
Panixen™ is a product that can be used together with the above-mentioned groups of drugs
(no drug interactions).
On the other hand, Panixen™ provides an extremely fast effect within up to 15-20 minutes of taking it. The product is completely safe for long-term use, without dependence and without the "withdrawal effect" characteristic of "classic" therapies.

Mechanism of action

Panixen™ has a complex mode of action, it can act as an agonist or antagonist in the body. In this way, specific enzymes and active substances can be inhibited or bound.
Sceletium Tortuosum acts on the central nervous system (amygdala). It has been identified as a serotonin transporter (5-HT) blocker. Kana blocks the reuptake of serotonin in the presynaptic remnant, thus increasing its amount.
L-tryptophan is an essential amino acid that is included in the metabolism and after a chain of transformations, serotonin is formed from it.
Serotonin is a neurotransmitter with the conventional name "hormone of happiness". Serotonin stimulates cognitive activity, including in stressful situations when thought must be quick and clear. It reduces nervousness, irritability, removes the feeling of confusion, fear and emotional stress. Serotonin helps reduce depression and regulate anxiety.
